Our collection of 5 lovely cottages are perfect for a family holiday or a quiet retreat, and can even be booked as a group for a special celebration with loved ones.
Our leisure facility, The Pool-House, offers a range of amenities to make your stay even more relaxing. Take a dip in our 6-seater hot tub or swim against the current in our Endless Pool swimming pool. The games room and gym area is perfect for a leisurely afternoon with friends, with a pool table and tennis table and a seating area overlooking our beautiful orchard. If you come as a large group, our games room is the perfect space for an afternoon tea or for a night of partying together.
See our new page for Parties and Group Bookings – East Briscoe is the perfect destination for groups of up to 16 (or 20 using sofabeds and pull out beds). The pool-house is ideal for getting together for a meal or a party, and the five cottages give plenty of space to relax (or recover from the partying!) in peace and quiet.
We’ve had all sorts of groups stay at East Briscoe, and all have loved their stay:

Award-winning East Briscoe Farm Cottages are set in a beautifully peaceful, south-facing position, on a 14-acre wooded riverside estate in Teesdale, County Durham, near Barnard Castle.
Surrounded by beautiful North Dales countryside, East Briscoe is the perfect place to escape and unwind; offering a wealth of interest for naturalists, cyclists and walkers. The holiday cottages are situated in Baldersdale (made famous as the former home of Hannah Hauxwell), two miles from the village of Cotherstone, which has two excellent pubs. We are 6 miles from Barnard Castle, a thriving market town with the famous Bowes Museum and English Heritage Castle.
Children are well catered for, with a play area and sand pit for the little ones, and a trampoline, woodlands and river to explore for all ages.
All holiday guests can enjoy nature walks around the estate, fishing on our own stretch of the River Balder and in nearby reservoirs, free-range eggs from the resident hens and seasonal food from the vegetable garden.

We have online booking available. You can still book by email or by phone if you prefer. You can also book online then pay by cheque if you don’t want to give out card details. Please let us know if you have any problems with the online booking system.
