Covid Unlocking

Now that most Covid restrictions have been lifted, we are fully open for business, and have been very busy, with lots of guests keen for a getaway after the difficult last year and a half.

We are maintaining best hygiene practices during changeovers, with all surfaces being sanitised in the cottages – sanitiser is provided for during your stay. There is a 30 minute break between pool-house bookings to minimize risks from aerosol transmission. We are also maintaining social distancing between ourselves and guests, and trying to keep interactions outside – if we need to enter a cottage while it is occupied we will wear a mask.

Covid-19 Update: Rule of 6

The government has announced that from Monday 14th September, gatherings of more than 6 people will be illegal (unless all are in the same household/support bubble). We will therefore not be accepting any group bookings of more than 6 people for arrival before January 2021.

If you have a group booking with us within the next 10 weeks (up to 20th November), you can change it to a date next year, or cancel and receive a full refund.

Covid-19 Update – Reopening

We are now fully open again after the easing of lockdown, including the pool and hot-tub. We have enhanced our cleaning procedures, and put in measures to enable better social distancing and outdoor socialising.

Please note it is down to you to ensure that you and the people you are with follow the government guidelines on social distancing.

Cancellation Policy
All bookings are eligible for a full refund if we have to cancel for any reason. If you have to cancel due to contracting the virus, or a local lockdown where you live, we will try to re-book the cottage(s), and if we can, we will give you a refund less a 15% handling fee.

Coronavirus/Covid-19 Update

Following the latest government instructions, we are now closed until further notice. All bookings in the up to the end May have been cancelled. The situation is still not very clear, but we don’t think we’ll be opening for holiday guests before the beginning of July.

Any current booking for June can be moved to a future date – either later in the year or to 2021. If you need to cancel your booking completely we will provide a full refund for bookings up to the end of June.

New Bookings
Any bookings made from now on will be eligible for a full refund if cancellation is required for any reason, until the current advice on restricting travel and social contact is relaxed. After that time, our normal cancellation policies will apply.

We’re Electric!

We have recently acquired a Nissan Leaf all-electric car, and had a 7kw charging point installed. We love it so much we’re offering free charging and a 10% discount to any other all-electric car owners. Just use the code “EV10” when booking.

Huge new show coming to Auckland Castle

Tickets are on sale for the Kynren show this summer. This is a massive new addition to the area, an epic show featuring over 1000 actors, playing out scenes from 2000 years of British history.

We have just opened our new leisure facility, which currently boasts a 6 seater hot-tub, and an “Endless Pool” swimming pool with current. We are just putting the finishing touches to the gym area and games room. The games room will shortly have a pool/table tennis/air hockey table, bean bags and library area. The gym currently has a treadmill, more equipment to come soon.
